Brown rice has more nutrients than white rice, but roughly the same amount of carbohydrates. Beneficial components of brown rice include fiber, thiamine, niacin and vitamin B6. Both types of rice are rich in magnesium. Potato is another complex carbohydrate, which is also good for the body.
