Where does veal come from?

Veal calves are usually raised until they are approximately 16 to 18 weeks old. By this time, they may weigh up to 450 pounds. Most calves are special-fed, meaning that they have nutritionally balanced milk or soy diets filled with essential nutrients such as carbohydrates, amino acids, fats, vitamins and minerals. Hormones are not used in the process of raising veal. Source: dictionary.reference.com
