How long is recovery on ankle surgery?

Arthroscopic surgery uses tiny instruments to repair damaged tissue, and this minimally invasive technique often has patients resuming normal activities in just a few days with full recovery in a few weeks, says the AAOS. Ankle fracture surgery has a significantly longer recovery time with patients returning to normal activities other than sports within a few months but taking up to two years for a full recovery, advises the AAOS.
