What are some symptoms of finger gout?
Although gout is most often found in the joint of the big toe, it can also occur in the joint of the hands, feet, ankles, knees and wrists, and as the condition progresses, more joints may be affected. Attacks often come at night, and the most severe symptoms usually occur within 4 to 12 hours of onset. After the initial attack has passed, the joint may remain uncomfortable for several days or even weeks, says Mayo Clinic. Sufferers should notify their doctor and begin treatment immediately to lessen or prevent additional attacks.
