What are the different levels of CPR?
Basic life support utilizes CPR and an automatic external defibrillator to help people before transport to a care center. It focuses on the ABCs of airway, breathing and circulation, reports Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. Pediatric advanced life support is pediatric specific, and was designed by both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association. It focuses on child and infant CPR. Advanced cardiovascular life support teaches care for postcardiac arrest and also provides education for recognition of cardiac arrest, states the American Heart Association.
